Underwater vessel.
Very deep under the surface,
Where no light rearched, his
Xenophobic mind could finally be at ease.
Years passed slowly for the old man, his face growing more
Zombified by the day.
Although his vessel could filter oxygen and nourishment to sustain his body, the
Black waters, absent of life, took a toll on his sanity.
Creatures could be heard swimming outside his chamber, but
Darkness hid them from sight.
Echoes from his vessel crashing into cavern walls
Forcefully reminded him of the
Glaring fact that he was
Hovering between the undersea currents
Inside a sealed, inescabable chamber.
Just as soon as he realized his fate,
Katharsis would erase the truth from consciousness, and he would return to
Languid meditation.
Memories passed through his mind,
Never resting on any one thought for more than a moment.
Only in the dark waters and beneath the immense
Pressure of the ocean could he feel the
Quiet solitude he had sought after so long.
Rays of light filter in as the vessel drifts to the surface, and sitting inside——a
Skeleton
